The 2017 Telefood  Fund “winner”: the Children’s Home Foyer Sainte Thérèse d’Agbata

 

On October 17, 2017, the Children’s Home Foyer Sainte Thérèse d’Agbata got a donation worth 5, 321, 080 FCFA from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation) in the framework of its Telefood Operation.

The donation served to equip and fit out the refectory, to buy household appliances, and also foods and non-foods (rice, pasta, oil, canned tomatoes, bean, biscuits, soaps, detergent (washing powder), cleaning products, kitchen utensil…).

Present at the ceremony were numerous personalities such as Human Resources Director at Agriculture and Hydraulics Ministry Mrs Kayi Aguey-Wognon, the Prefectorial Director of Social Actions in Lakes Prefecture (Préfecture des Lacs) Mr Kossi Follyvi Sallah and Mr Oyétoundé Djiwa, Program Executive at FAO-Togo.

Telefood Fund, Mr Djiwa explained is a Fund created in 1997 by the Conference of the Member States of FAO which finances the actions of grassroots developments according to a very simplified procedure in favor of the cooperatives for an amount not exceeding 10.000 US dollars per project.

Let us note that the Children’s Home Foyer Sainte Thérèse d’Agbata is the 99th to benefit from Telefood Fund.
